A range of beach experiences for intermediate & advanced riders

1½ HOUR BEACH RIDE

This ride canters down the beach and returns back up through the sand dunes.
Minimum Riding Skills Needed

  • Mount/Dismount unaided adjust stirrups & girth
  • Be able to rise to the trot
  • Be able to canter
  • Have an independent seat i.e. not holding onto front of saddle/neckstrap or using reins to balance, at walk, trot & canter
  • Be confident and able to control a horse in an open space at canter

All horses are ridden English style with English Saddles.
Please do not book this ride if you are a beginner/novice rider. Riders must have received tuition and be able to fast canter and control a horse/pony in open spaces. Suitable for adults and children 12 years and over.

All riders will be assessed in the arena before going out. If you are not to the required standard we will try and transfer you to another ride but you will not be refunded if you have over estimated your ability.

Our upper weight limit is 220lbs, 16 stone or 101kg.
For safety and horse welfare reasons we are unable to accept riders over this weight.
Minimum age for accompanied children is 10 years old.
Minimum age for unaccompanied children is 12 years old.
Younger children taken by special arrangement only.
All riders please turn up 15mins before the start of your ride to allow time to book in and to fit hats.
Mounting and dismounting is included in the ride time.

2 HOUR BEACH RIDE

This ride allows more time on the beach. After a good canter down Tullan Strand the ride goes on the Erne Estuary beach where you can enjoy a good gallop(subject to rider assessment). The ride then climbs to the top of the Sand Dunes giving you breath-taking views back over the Estuary. The ride then returns back through the sand dunes.

HALF DAY EXPERIENCE

You start your experience with a 1 hour arena lesson tailored for your ability which can include jumping. This is then followed by a 2 hour beach ride where you can canter & gallop down Tullan Strand and onto the Erne Estuary.
Time to take the horses into the sea, subject to tide conditions before heading back through the sand dunes.
Minimum age 12 yrs.
Please note you may ride different horses for each part of your experience. If you would like to jump or if you would like to work on a particular skill please make sure you fill this section out on the booking form. All horses are matched with rider and prepared beforehand.
